1. Who this policy covers
This policy explains how StaysAlert handles personal information collected through this website and in connection with the StaysAlert monitoring and recommendation service.
Production review required: the legal identity and registered address of the data controller must be confirmed before this policy is published.
2. Information we may collect
When you submit a property and an empty stay, we may collect:
- your name and email address;
- property name and property listing URL;
- check-in and check-out dates;
- adult and child guest numbers;
- current nightly price, currency and current minimum stay;
- any optional notes you choose to provide; and
- ordinary technical and site information where applicable, such as IP address, device/browser information and website-use data.
3. Why we use it
We use this information to respond to your submission, understand the relevant stay, demonstrate or provide the StaysAlert service, communicate with you, maintain security and improve the website and service.
Where you ask us to assess a stay or contact you about a submission, the usual lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract and, where applicable, performing a contract. We may also process information for our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the service. Where consent is required, we will ask for it.
4. Sharing and processors
We may share information with service providers who help us operate the website or service, such as hosting, communications, security or analytics providers, and where required by law. We do not sell personal information.
Production review required: the final list of processors, any international transfers and the safeguards used must be confirmed once the production WordPress site and service stack are finalised.
5. Retention and security
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including responding to you, providing the service, meeting legal obligations and resolving disputes. We use proportionate technical and organisational measures to protect information, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Production review required: formal retention periods and deletion procedures must be agreed before production launch.
6. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information, and to request portability. You may also withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
You may have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how your information has been handled.
